PDF Watermark Style
A PDF Watermark Style is used to control settings and options for the appearance of PDF Watermarks on downloaded PDF files. PDF Watermark Styles are configured in NeuCart's Admin Area, however store owners rarely configure their own styles; NeuCart ships with default styles that tend to suit the needs of most stores.

Configuration
PDF Watermark Styles is a standard Table View/Form View admin page. Two records have been created by default and cannot be deleted:
- Default NeuCart Watermark (A4) - this style is used for the A4 page size, which is common in many parts of the world.
- Default NeuCart Watermark (letter) - this style is used for the 8.5x11 "letter" page size, which is common in the United States.
There are a number of configurable fields for a PDF Watermark Style. Those worth noting in this documentation include:
- Watermark Text
- This field contains the actual text that will be displayed on the watermark. The special text ~customer~ and ~order~ will be replaced at the time of the order with the order-specific information. For example, in the default watermark styles provided by NeuCart, the text
This file sold to ~customer~, order #~order~. Reproduction or distribution is prohibited.
could be rendered asThis file sold to John Smith, order #015C41-654321. Reproduction or distribution is prohibited.
when the order processes. In addition, it is possible to include the text ~quantity~, which will be replaced with the quantity of the product that was ordered. This feature was intended to be used for things like concert tickets, which can show the number of tickets in the order. - Page Size
- Five common page sizes are included, as well as a setting for "custom", if you have a PDF that includes a size not listed. Why is this field necessary? It would seem that the watermarking process would just stamp the watermark across the page in that page's current size, but unfortunately the library used to render the watermark requires that a page size is defined. Thus, this field is necessary. At this time, there are no plans to modify this behavior; this requires that all pages in a PDF are the same size and orientation (landscape/portrait).
Linking the Style to a File
The PDF Watermark Styles page allows configuration of the watermarks, but how does a file know which watermark to use? This configuration is done in the Digital Files for Products page. On that page, each PDF file may be configured with a watermark style; it is also possible to test the output of a watermark on a file. See Digital Files for Products for more information.
