This page lists Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) — or more likely, potential questions — about this Wiki documentation site.

Wiki

What is a wiki?

A wiki is a web application which allows people to add, modify, or delete content in collaboration with others. In a typical wiki, text is written using a simplified markup language or a rich-text editor. Wiki content is created without defined ownership or leaders; the structure of the wiki emerges according to the need of the users.

What is this wiki?

This wiki is used to document and discuss the NeuCart product.

How is this wiki different from other wiki sites?

Unlike the popular site Wikipedia or other similar wiki sites, this wiki has been restricted so that pages are not freely editable by the general public. Instead, the documentation is editable only by NeuCart personnel. Talk pages are editable by users with an account, allowing users to ask questions or offer suggestions about content in an article.

Accounts

How can I create an account?

To reduce spam or other unwanted edits, user accounts cannot be created by default. To request an account be created for you, contact NeuCart support.

How can I suggest an edit on a page?

Each article has a corresponding talk page. Talk pages allow users to discuss the content of an article. To access an article's talk page, click the "Talk" tab at the top of the page, or use the link at the bottom of the article, just above the category listing.

Navigation

Links

Links between articles and categories allow easy navigation and exploration of additional topics. A blue link like this one means that the article exists; a red link like this one links to a topic that has not yet been documented.

How is this wiki categorized?

A single article may belong to multiple categories, should always belong to at least one category, and usually belongs to multiple categories. There is not a tree-like hierarchy of categories like a folder structure of an operating system. Instead a single article may belong to multiple relevant categories; for example, the Gift Card category belongs to:

A list of all the main categories can be found at top categories.

What is a "Learning Series"?

A learning series is a group of articles that help a store administrator learn about a particular topic. For example, the gift cards learning series contains articles that give an administrator all the relevant information to configure Gift Card functionality.
