This article is a step-by-step guide on how to create digital products; specifically, how to create a product so that customers can order it and download a file after purchase.

While there are many ways to do these activities in bulk, these instructions are for a single product.

Background

The steps below assume that the one-time setup steps have been done by you or NeuCart support, for example, setting up the location of the digital files root path on the server. In short, the technical work has already been done for you prior to getting to these steps.

Steps

Upload the file that will be downloaded

  1. From the main menu, click on Digital Files for Products
  2. Click Upload New File from the menu bar.
  3. Click Select File(s) and choose the file from your computer.
  4. Click Upload file(s).

The file that customers will download is now on your NeuCart server.

Display the product in your store

  1. From the main menu, click on Products
  2. Click Create Record from the menu bar.
  3. Enter all the information as desired (Name, SKU, price, etc.)
  4. In the Shipping and Delivery Options setting, find the [Downloadable Filename] option and select the file that you uploaded.
  5. Click Create to create and save this record. Your product will now display in the store.

Now you have created a product that displays. When customers order this product, the file that you selected as the [Downloadable Filename] will be made available for download.
