Text Translations is a configuration page in the Admin Area that allows a store administrator to change user-facing text. The text configured here is primarily what is displayed within the store's website, but also on order-confirmation emails and other functions.

Usage

Text Translations was redesigned for version 8.50. Starting in this version, the page opens to display only a single box containing the following:

  • A "search for text" textbox
  • A "translation language" selection box
  • A "search" button

To use this page, a user types text in the search box, selects the language, and clicks "search". The results are displayed below the search box. Within the search results, a user can enter new text into the text box; Save must be clicked for each entry to be saved, as there is no global "save" option on this page.

Some other configuration pages, for example Digital File Preferences, link to Text Translations to configure messages for other languages. When this occurs, the "search for text" box is missing and the category of text (in this example, anything related to the Digital File Preference download page) is displayed instead.
