Store Access

From NeuCart Documentation

Store Access is a configuration page in the admin area that allows a store owner to allow or block access. The store may be blocked completely, blocked/accessible by IP address, or password-protected. In typical usage, Store Access settings are changed only when a store is being transferred from one server to another, or if the store owner has other reasons to "close business" for a period of time.

Configuration

Restriction Settings

The default setting for the [Store Restriction Type] field is "No restrictions: store is open for business". There are various methods to make the store restricted. Other choices:

  • Users are redirected to another page, except allowed IP addresses
  • Users see "store restriction message", except allowed IP addresses
  • Users see "store restriction message" within store header/footer, except allowed IP addresses
  • All users must enter a password to access the store
  • Users must enter a password, except users from allowed IP addresses

Based on the selected restriction type, the page will show entry fields for the allowed IP addresses, the message to display for restrictions, and/or the password required for entry.

Blacklist Settings

This section displays a [Blacklisted IP Addresses] field, as well as the blacklist behavior field (redirection to a URL or display of a message). The IP Addresses listed as "blacklisted" will permanently be banned from accessing the store, perhaps for the purposes of blocking abusive buyers or scammers. It is unknown whether or not any store owner has been required to use this option.
