Prompt to Checkout

From NeuCart Documentation
Jump to: navigation, search

The term Prompt to Checkout refers to the functionality where a customer is prompted to check out as soon as their product has been added to their cart. Prior to this functionality's implementation, the only indication that a product was added to the cart was by looking at the cart itself; this sometimes was not apparent to users, especially on mobile devices. By enabling this functionality, users will know that their item has been added to the cart, and they are given a choice of what to do next.

Configuration

Display Preferences has an option, [Prompt to Check Out Behavior] with the following choices:

Do not prompt users to check out
This is the default setting; when selected, customers aren't prompted to check out.
Prompt users to check out
When enabled, the user is shown a dialog after adding a product to the cart.

User Prompt

The Prompt to Check Out Dialog.

The dialog that prompts shows the product's name at the top, with its primary image below. Next to the primary image, there is text that informs the user about the choices for acting next. When the product is a physical product (as determined by the [Item Requires Shipping] option for a product), there is also an option for the user to change the quantity.

The two buttons — Check Out Now and Continue Shopping — are the primary functions of this dialog and are self-explanatory. Below the buttons there is an option for the customer to turn off future prompts during the shopping session.
