The Product Management page, or simply Products as it is listed on the main menu, is the configuration page in the Admin Area that allows store owners to create, edit, and delete products in the system. Store owners will spend more time using this configuration page than any other.

Configuration

Like most configuration pages, Products is a standard Table View/Form View admin page. The default display lists all products in the system, and products can be filtered to show only specific records. The Table View menu for Products also includes some bulk actions to allow quick configuration for multiple products at a time.

Table View

Table View for Products displays the ID, Name, SKU, Price, Active Status, and Quantity Available columns. Standard Table View Filtering is available for this page.

Bulk Configuration

Because products are edited so frequently, NeuCart provides a number of functions for editing the items in bulk. In addition, the bulk options are often useful for viewing the configuration of multiple records at a time. Even if you do not intend to edit an option, it can be useful to view the current value for multiple records. (Just be sure to press Cancel and not save!)

Categories
The Bulk Categories option allows each of the four categories per product to be configured. When this option is selected, the grid shows the current name of the selected products' categories. Above the grid, selection boxes for Categories 1-4 display so that the new values can be configured (there is also an option to "Do not change category").
Sort Text
Some store owners configure products with specific sorting behaviors; the Sort Text bulk option allows easy configuration of this field. Unlike the other bulk menu options, all the bulk configuration for this option is done within the grid and not above it.
Change any Checkbox Field
This option allows the configuration of any field that is an on/off option (checkbox) on the Form View page.
Change any Text/Number Field
This option allows the configuration of any field's text, numeric, or drop-down value.

Form View

Form View for Products is similar to all other Form View configuration pages. For a full description of all the options, see Product.

There are two features of the Product page's Form View that are different from other pages:

Copy Button
When a record has not been edited, a button with the letter C displays to the left of the X button on the menu bar. This C allows the record to be copied. After the record is copied, the new record is displayed and ready to be edited. This method of copying and editing records provides the fastest method for creating products that are similar to existing products.
Record Name Link
The name of the product displays in the menu bar as with all Form View pages. On the products page, however, this name is also a link to the product in the store. Click the link to see how the product works in the store; the link always opens in a new tab.
